The InTASC Portfolio page provides evidence that I have met the InTASC standards for Wayne State University. There is a description of how I have achieved each standard on this page. The Yellow Buttons on each lesson's page and several other pages of this site indicate where an InTASC Standard has been met. By clicking on these buttons they will take you to this page so that you can see the description of the Standard that has been met.
Reflective Practitioners review their teaching experiences and constantly come up with ways to improve their practice. Here I provide you with examples of my reflection process with several art lessons. My teacher reflections are an example of InTASC Standard 9.
Effective Urban Educators are Innovative Practitioners who are able to demonstrate the ability to problem solve, develop ideas, and use creative methods. Examples and a discussion of my ability to put in to practice these ideals are on this page. My teaching philosophies and goals demonstrate my dedication to being an Innovative Practitioner.
Effective Urban Educators are Committed to Diversity and demonstrate this in various ways. Through understanding the culture and background of each student and presenting projects that support and connect to them in a meaningful way is a great way to address diversity in the art classroom. Also, developing lessons that expand the students world view and exposes them to new ideas and experiences is paramount to diversity in the classroom.
Here is where I talk about my committment to diversity and my methods of infusing diversity into my classroom.
